Tractor-Trailer Overturned on I-95 in Philadelphia

Overturned Tractor-Trailer in PhiladelphiaA tractor-trailer overturned on I-95 in Philadelphia this afternoon. The large commercial trucking accident occurred around 2:30 pm on Exit 19 to Packer Avenue and the Walt Whitman Bridge. Incredibly, the cargo that the tractor-trailer was hauling flew from the truck and showered down onto the southbound lanes of I-95. A vehicle that was passing under the bridge was then struck by falling debris, which subsequently crushed the roof of the car and injured its two occupants.

The car was caught up against a guardrail after the crash, and rescue crews had to use the Jaws of Life to remove the roof and free the two people inside. Both victims suffered catastrophic injuries during the wreck, and both of them were immediately rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, one of them was later pronounced dead at the hospital, while the other is said to be in stable condition at this time. According to authorities, the driver of the truck was also hurt, but there is no word on the extent of injuries at the moment.

At Edelstein, Martin & Nelson, we realize that large trucking accidents of this nature are sadly too common. The damages that thrive in the wake of these horrendous crashes are almost always extremely severe, and we understand the intensely physical, mental, and financial complications that arise afterward. If you have been the injured as the result of a trucking accident, call 888-208-1810 to begin your road to full compensation today.
