Letterkenny Township, Pennsylvania (August 19, 2017) – A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured after being struck by a car on Cumberland Highway on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. August 17 on the southbound lanes of the highway.

According to the police, the motorcyclist identified as Christopher R. Coldsmith, 35, of Shippensburg was attempting to make a U-turn into the southbound lanes on Cumberland Highway when they were struck by a 2016 Kia Cadenza driven by 46-year-old Robert L. Lehman of Shady Gap.

Coldsmith sustained minor injuries and was airlifted to York Hospital while the unidentified passenger was transported to Chambersburg Hospital.

According to the police, Coldsmith was at fault and will be charged with a traffic violation.
