Pilot and Passenger Killed in Madras Plane Crash
Oregon, Pennsylvania (August 20, 2017) – Two people were killed Saturday after a small plane crashed in Jefferson County, according to authorities.
The deadly crash occurred at about 2 p.m. August 19, about a mile south of Madras Municipal Airport near Central Oregon.
The small plane was near a central Oregon airport when it crashed near where people have been gathering to view the solar eclipse, as per the officials.
The plane was described as a single engine homebuilt Wheeler Express.
The identities of the victims were being withheld by officials.
It had not yet been determined what caused the crash at the time of the report.
An investigation into the incident is being headed by Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board.
