Helicopter Accident Leaves 2 Dead and 1 Injured in McKean County

The big story this morning involves a helicopter crash that happened yesterday evening, about 150 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Smethport.

The company, FirstEnergy is currently constructing a 15-mile wide transmission project located in McKean County. It was there that a helicopter carrying two workers who were stringing power lines crashed, unfortunately resulting in the deaths of both workers. The pilot suffered catastrophic injuries for which he is currently being treated.

Names have not yet been released at this time, and the detrimental seriousness of this accident cannot be understated. Additionally, the treacherous account of this unfortunate mishap may have led to the deaths of two workers, although it is important to understand that on-the-job accidents do not generally yield such horrific results. Nevertheless, this accident should technically be considered a construction accident, which is almost always horrendously serious.
