One killed after Car Collides with Water Tanker on Route 487 in Fairmount

Arno Serafini, 84, Killed in Route 487 2-Vehicle Crash in Fairmount
Fairmount, Pennsylvania (August 28, 2017) – Arno Serafini, 84, of Mildred, was killed in a traffic collision on Friday morning.
The incident was reported at about 11:15 a.m. Friday, August 25, on Route 487, north of Hynick Road.
According to Shickshinny-based State Police, Serafini was driving a Chevrolet Malibu sedan southbound on the highway, when he rear-ended a water tanker truck driven by 55-year-old Scott Kuzio, of Lock Haven.
The impact caused Serafini’s vehicle to veer off and strike a guardrail before coming to a stop about 30 feet away from the point of impact.
According to a Luzerne County Coroner, Serafini died of multiple traumatic injuries.
Scott, however, was not injured in the accident.
Kuzio’s car suffered significant damage while the truck sustained moderate damage.
The State Police are still investigating the incident.
